What a reserved SICAF means in practice

01

Aligned with the asset class

Closed-end structure with a fixed term mirrors the J-curve of venture capital — capital is committed and drawn over the investment period, then progressively returned through realisations.

02

One framework, many investors

All investors enter under the same governance, the same fee schedule and the same documentation — eliminating the structural friction of side-letters and bilateral negotiations.

03

Compartments for distinct strategies

The SICAF can run separate compartments with independent assets, liabilities and investment policies — each one a distinct strategy within the same regulated framework.

04

Institutional oversight

Bank of Italy supervision, an independent depositary, statutory auditors and internal control functions — the governance backbone of a regulated alternative investment fund.

Track record

Two portfolios, one platform

Since obtaining authorisation from the Bank of Italy, Rancilio Cube SICAF S.p.A. has built and launched two distinct international venture-capital portfolios — each a separate vintage, each opening a new window onto the asset class.

2022 First vintage

The inaugural portfolio

Built around the SICAF authorisation, the first portfolio brought together a selection of top-tier international VC funds and direct positions — opening the family's long-standing strategy to professional investors for the first time under a regulated framework.

2025 Second vintage

The next chapter

Three years later, the launch of the second portfolio extends the platform with a fresh vintage — capturing new market dynamics, additional manager relationships and an expanded geographic footprint across the US, Europe and Israel.

Each portfolio operates with its own investment policy and time horizon, while sharing the same governance, the same team and the same anchor commitment from the Rancilio family.
